Unable to Modify Delegate Permissions – The Delegates settings were not saved correctly

Problem:

Client is attempting to modify Delegate Permissions for an Outlook resource and are returned the error:

The Delegates settings were not saved correctly. Unable to activate send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.

or

The Delegates settings were not saved correctly. Cannot activate send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.

Cause:

Client may not have or lost “Write” permissions to the resource.

Solution:

1. Search for the resource within the Active Directory, open the tab titled “Security”.
2. Scroll down to the user or group that is attempting to modify Delegates.
3. Verify the user or group has “Write” permissions set to “Allow”.

Note: Depending on location and replication period, this may take up to an hour to be effective.
